Awesome Night

Thursday, September 30, 2004 by Daren Darrow

Tonight I went to SODA with Michael Cich and met up with New Mikel.

(note: from now on, I will be calling Michal Cich -- Mary -- just so that it is easier to separate them)

SODA's program was over Self Defense. Well it all went well, until I was called on to demonstrate. I got to choke the police officer that was giving the presentation. I didn't do a very good job at first, but the second time he said "Hey, remember that parking ticket? I gave that to you." It's amazing how a little encouragement works. I almost choked him too hard that time.

After SODA we all went to The Third Place for coffee, it was fun. We talked and played games and just enjoyed each others company. At sometime around 9:30 p.m., Mary and Joseph left to go do whatever it is they do (immaculate conception?) and it was down to Me, Mikel, Chris Norfleet and Karisna.

We left and I went with Mikel to his apartment and picked up a bottle of wine and met his roommate. We left and went to Chris's house to watch a movie. It was fun. Chris didn't bug me this time. I know, gasp and amaze. I talked to Mikel quite a bit and watched how he relates to his friends. It just made me realize, even more so, that I want to spend time with him.

So here it is, after 2:30 a.m., and I'm still awake and have a class at 9 a.m. I just got back.

I think I'm just going to go to Mrs. Dragonfly (drag show) on campus friday rather than going to the city and I want to go out to Stonewalls tomorrow night. We (Me, Mikel, Chris and Karisna) are going to Kyoto for sushi on Friday. We seem to be spending a lot of time together as a group, but when Mikel dropped me off tonight I asked him out to dinner. He said yes but we didn't set a date yet, but at least it's done. He should now know for certain that I'm interested.

It was easy to ask. Normally I am nervous, but with him it was easy. I am very comfortable around him and everything just seems to come naturally. Perhaps this means something.

Dinner Night

Sunday, September 26, 2004 by Daren Darrow

Tonight we had another dinner night at Nikki and Chris's. This time Michael Cich (since I have to specify now that there is more than one) made Terraki Beef and Cocanut Shrimp. It was excellent. We had 10 people there for dinner (Nikki, Chris, Myself, Michael Cich, Mikel, Joseph, Danny, Brandi and Holly).

We had fun. Talked, drank etc.

I may post more later. I also posted more photos on my Web site today. The photos are of myself, as well as, more photos from the OSU vs SMU games.

Wochenende!

Saturday, September 25, 2004 by Daren Darrow

It's finally friday. After a week of screwed up sleep and missing two classes, I can finally, legitimately, sleep in.

Class was ok today, pretty light for a friday. It seems like my professors like to load us up on work for the weekends this semester.

When I got out of class, I went to Wal-Mart and bought a socket set and other various tools so that I could work on my car tomorrow. I have to replace the altenator. Damn used cars. There went $200.00 that I wasn't wanting to spend.

I started to work on it today, but the engine wasn't cooling down quick enough after I got back, so I decided to wait until Saturday morning to do it.

I came back to my room afterward, and started cleaning. I got sidetracked by messing with my PC (I hate it when that happens) and the next thing I know, its 7 p.m. and Krista is stoping by to get me and go to the movies. I started not to go but did anyway. We went to see Shrek 2 on campus. It was funny, but not all that I had hoped it would be. Left there and went to Perkins Resturant to eat. Their Chicken Cordon Blue skillet is awesome.

Came back home. Changed out of shorts and into pants since I was freezing (it's 54 right now. I think it was around 60 then) and went out to Stonewall Tavern for drinks. Didn't meet up with Michael and Joseph like we thought we would, but that was ok. I have still yet to meet up with the other Michael. I guess I'm just going to have to get his phone number off of Joseph and give him a call.

I came back home early, like a little after midnight, and hoped to have a new Stargate: Atlantis to watch, but sadly they decided to rerun the pilot.

So I've spent the last three hours watching various programs on tv and I updated my photo gallery.

Time for sleep.

BON APPÉTIT

Thursday, September 23, 2004 by Daren Darrow

Only one hour till I go out for "Thirsty Thursday."

With luck, I'll run into Mikel (yes another one). I met him a few weeks ago and he's a nice guy. He's 28, and a pastry chef. Nikki approves of him. Is that a good thing?

Ok, back to watching Will and Grace!

Herr Shady

This week I had "coffee" with a former professor. This is a professor who had been having/had a thing for Michael. They had been doing whatever for awhile, until I found out about it. Michael didn't know that he was married with a child. I had vaguely recalled it, but was nearly certain he was, at least at one time, married. During my class with him a few years ago, he was gone for a few days because his child was being born.

Well he never bothered telling Michael this, so I told him but we didn't have hard proof. Michael just kept it in mind but pursued slowly to see what would happen. Well the other day I found a copy of his marriage certificate online and sent it to Michael.

Michael sent the link to the professor and said something like "hmm, this is interesting."

Long story shortened, the professor called Michael being all-apologetic but insisted that he didn't lie to Michael. Well he must have a short-sighted definition on what a lie is. Michael ended up yelling at him on the phone and they pretty much haven't had any communication since.

Well around 30 minutes after he and Michael had the argument, I got an e-mail from him. He wanted to have coffee and "see what's been going on since class."

I agreed to it. Not so much to have a relationship with him, but to see where he would try to take it. It went ok, but he wants go take me to lunch now. :
I left it open, I didn't say yes or no but I did get the feeling before that, that he was wanting more than to catch up. I'm just going to let it go where it goes, but the moment he try's anything it's going to be "So. How's the wife and kid?"

I hate guys like that. Figure it out before you're married; before you have kids. It's just disgusting to do that to someone who cares for you.

Damn Nikki

Saturday, September 18, 2004 by Daren Darrow

Damn it. I am still feeling the alohol.

I went out with Nikki, Chris and Michael. We stayed for an hour or so at the Falcon Five-O concert in the Starlight Terrace, but then went to the strip.

We ran into Joseph and the-other Mikel. (Joseph is the guy Michael is currently seeing) I ended up drinking more than I had anticipated, thanks to Nikki. So I'm still feeling the effects of it. We all came back to my room to watch the season premiere of Will and Grace on my ReplayTV. Michael and Joseph are cuddling on my bed right now, eww but ahhh at the same time. The other Mikel left, but i'm oddly finding myself thinking of him. I don't know if it's just the alcohol or what.

Heather has called me a few times tonight. She was already drunk by midnight, but was going to call me back. I feel bad because I am ignoring the calls right now. Oh well. I'll call her back tomorrow and she most likely will not even remember the calls.

Well, thats all for now.

Misc Happenings

Sunday, September 12, 2004 by Daren Darrow

Classes have been fine, German II is kicking my ass. It has been so long since German I that I have forgot a lot of it.

I've made it a point to be more social, and not let myself fall back into some anti-social tendencies. I have gone out to the strip at least once per week that I've been back. Hanging out with Michael quite a bit and went to SODA. Yes, I said SODA. It's not sucking, yet, like it normally does. But I have found many people who have a bitter feelings toward the organization due to the past few administrations. So at least I'm in familiar company :)

Last week was the first SODA meeting that I went to, it was the Allies meeting. We have decided to rename the Edmond Lowe Library the "Big Gay Building" because so many of the people at the meeting work at the library.

After the meeting, me, Michael, Mikel, Chris and Chase, went out to The Third Place for coffee and chit-chat. I discovered they have board games and stuff there. This could be trouble. I sat for hours working on a puzzle when we were there.

We left and went to Stonewall Tavern for a night cap and such. I had left my wallet in my room. Luckily, Chris and Nikki were there so I was able to have Chris bring it to me. Yay for my white slave!

On another subject. It's amazing how much time I've spent with Michael lately, just talking. Talking about things that have happened over the past year. Working through things. Setting goals for the future and just deciding what to do now.

OSU vs TU

by Daren Darrow

Yesterday was the OSU vs TU game at the newly-renovated Boone Pickens Stadium! I really hate the name of the stadium, why couldn't he have a different name? Seriously, but for $75 million, I guess it can be overlooked.

I got to brake in my All-Sports Ticket yesterday. I'm going to make it a point to go to nearly, if not all, OSU home games for football and wrestling. Mmmm wrestling boys!

Anyway, we won the game (of course). The final score was 38-21.

I took quite a few good photos of the game. You can view them here. I've also started rebuilding my photo gallery, and I have added a link on the right hand side of the page to it.

Orange Peel

by Daren Darrow

Friday night was Orange Peel. It was awesome. We had Incubus and some other people who weren't that important :)

No really, they weren't that important, you can click the orangepeel link to read more about them.

I couldn't hear out of my right ear till today, Sunday, because of it. It was awesome being able to order pizza on the walk back from the stadium and not have to wait too long for it to be delivered to my room. mmmm 2 a.m. pizza!

Labor Day Weekend

by Daren Darrow

Only two weeks into classes this semester, and already a three-day weekend. I love it!

I spent most of Saturday waiting on my brother, sister-in-law and nieces to get here. It was a great visit. They were here for about six hours, but it seemed to be only five minutes. I saw Brielle for the first time. I took lots of cute photos, and all of them turned out great. However, I accidentally deleted them all off of the camera yesterday because I thought I already copied them off. Whoops! At least I had already made prints of the really good ones, so I just need to go scan them to get the again.

Most of the day was spent just hanging out, walking around campus and finishing up the day with dinner at Eskimo Joes. I've ate there only twice, and usually I don't care for it much, but this time it was good. I also got to watch the end of the OSU vs UCLA game while there.

Bulk Update

Life has been fun and crazy lately. Since it has been awahile since I've posted, I will do a bulk update in a few minutes with the "going-ons" of the past week or two.

Heather, Part 2

Saturday, September 04, 2004 by Daren Darrow

Ok, she just called me back. She made it to her friends house. She seems to only be upset because she got mud all over her feet.

If Heather Pees In The Woods, And No One is Around, Does She Fall Over?

by Daren Darrow

Ok, get this. Me and Heather (friend from Wisconsin) were talking to each other tonight. Both of us were out and drinking and such. I call her before I left the bar at around 2 a.m., something happens and I think she hangs up on me. No biggie, she was already drunk at 11 p.m. when I first got a call from her.

She just called me back (it's 2:45 a.m.) and she is drunk off her ass. I know she's not going to remember any of this. She was trying to walk back home, or to someone named ding-dongs house. Who knows who that is. She's kind of lost and drunk and stumbling around. She had foot surgery a month or so back, and she just got to take her boot off this week. She should not be walking this much. Anyway, she's trying to make it to some house, she has to pee. So she stops and pees in someones bushes. HAH.

She then proceeds to start barking at me over and over on the phone and laughing. I'm not really sure what that was about, but at this point I was nearly in stitches from laughing so hard. She ended up wandering through some field trying to take a short-cut to this house when I heard some guy talking to her telling her the he'll get her there. I think she knew him, his name was Joe.

She hangs up with me, but not before she says "I'll call you back later, this guy thinks he's going to take me to ding-dong's house, but he doesn't even know the way. He's so stupid." *click*

I may have reason to be worried, but I think she knew him. But I don't even know of anyone to call and let them know where she is. Hell she doesn't even know where she is I don't think.
