As many of you know, I've been looking for a new job for quite some time. Well, I finally found one.

I accepted a job with CNET as a copy editor this week. Better pay, same medical benefits, more vacation and more paid national holidays observed and a 15 minute commute (if I drive) or about a 30 min commute (BART and walking) compared with the 1hr15min commute I have now (15min walk, 1 hour on BART).

My last day at The Argus / BayAreaNewsGroup-East Bay is Jan. 24 and my I start at CNET the following Monday. I wish I could have given myself a few more days off, but between when CNET wanted me to start and the 2 weeks notice I needed to give, I really couldn't take more time off. But for those three days, we are going to take a quick trip somewhere. Not sure where yet, but we are considering Tahoe, Monterey/Carmel or perhaps a quick flight to L.A. or Vegas. Anyone have any suggestions?
